Electro Swing Rocks?

Electro Swing Rocks?

It's interesting hearing and watching music evolve. Electro Swing isn't any different. Here is a look at a few artists who are taking Rock, Bass and Rap and giving it more of a naughty Electro Swing edge.

Duke Skellington and Rapper Hypeman Sage give us an absolutely delicious Bass House banger to start off the year, "Simon Says." Hypeman Sage takes his Rap and modern scatting to a wole new level. Throw in Duke Skellington's Hard Bass production, a generous dose of f-bombs and more energy than a skid of Red Bulls and we get 2022s first certified banger. The duo's hardcore underground club sound is mesmerizing, intoxicating and a floor filler. Duke Skellington also has a very highly anticipated album dropping later this year.

Big Band Of Boom just dropped their first single with music video, "Big Bad Voodoo." A perfect blend of eighties hair band Rock and Electro Swing. Their screaming vocals, horns and guitar riffs remind you of legendary concerts. Solid drums will get the head banging. A very tolerable and refreshing evolution of a Rock and Electro Swing without it being annoying or novelty. Big Band Of Boom gives 80s Rock a charming nod and is proving Rock isn't dead.

Victor Ghastly's Electric Timebomb bring an 80s Punk and Pop mentality to the scene with latest album Clockwork Kaboom. Skulls formed from musical instruments on their Clockwork Kaboom album cover and arguably controversial lyrics to encourage f-bombs might make the parents upset on this one. Very catchy.

Smokey Joe & The Kid smash Blues and Hip Hop together for a chill and groovy take on life in these roaring twenties. Like most rap records, their War Is Over album has many guests chanting their rhymes over some pretty dope beats. Current hit, "Somehow," features a relevant addiction message over a pretty smooth groove.

Mista Trick is a behind the scenes master in the Drum & Bass scene. In 2021, the release of his You album , among other releases, propelled him to front and center in the Electro Swing scene. The album blends Drum & Bass and Swing into a Pop Radio style that's likable and nostalgic. One of the best albums of 2021.

We'll see if the edgier harder style takes off even more in 2022. For the most part it's good adult fun.
